I thought of this thread just a few moments ago. It is for you to post some random facts about baseball that most people may not know.
Here's one I read in Moneyball:
Billy Beane was offered the position of Red Sox GM when John Henry took over. Before he even took the job, he had ideas of what to do. They included trading then Red Sox 3B Shea Hillenbrand, replacing Jason Varitek with then White Sox back up catcher Mark Johnson, signing Bill Mueller for 3B and Edgardo Alfonzo for 2B, and moving Manny to DH.
