Houston right-hander tosses six shutout innings

Astros at the plate: Richard Hidalgo's three-run homer to left field off Joe Borowski in the fifth inning was the big blow of the night. It was Hidalgo's first home run of the spring. Mike Lamb had a pair of hits, including an RBI single in the fifth. Humberto Quintero also drove in a run.
Indians at the plate: Keith Ginter and Mike Rouse notched back-to-back RBI singles in the seventh. Other than that, it was a rough night for the Tribe on the offensive side.
Astros on the mound: Right-hander Roy Oswalt worked ahead and worked quickly. In six scoreless innings, all he allowed were three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Brad Lidge gave up two runs on four hits in the seventh, raising his spring ERA to 12.38.
Indians on the mound: Right-hander Paul Byrd was hit often, working up his pitch count, but he only let one run across in four innings. He gave up seven hits with one walk and one strikeout. Borowski was roughed up for four runs -- three earned -- on four hits in the fifth. Left-hander Aaron Fultz worked two perfect innings.
Grapefruit League records: Astros 13-8; Indians 12-10-1
Up next: The Astros will return home to take on the Tigers at 1:05 p.m. ET (12:05 p.m. CT) Friday, with right-hander Jason Jennings getting the starting nod. The Tribe remains home at Chain of Lakes Park with a 1:05 p.m. game against the Braves. Right-hander Tom Mastny will start.
