This issue has become more apparent. Before the season, everyone said their hitting will carry them. It did for a bit but then the pitching was what won games. Now no one is hitting and the staff is losing because of it.
So, which is it Mets fans? Our hitting or pitching that needs help?
For me, it's hitting. Just look back to Game 7 of the NLCS. No way should that lineup have score only 1 run.

Definitely the division. They're at least in the top 5 in the league.

You can't expect them to win 162 games per season. Appreciate what you have in the field, I can't imagine the riote it will cause if Mets finish 3rd place in the division this year.

Once again, their hitting fails them tonight. Bases loaded, no outs and the Phillies double up Reyes and Endy.
I'm not expecting them to win 162 games, I'm expecting them to play good baseball every game which means getting hits in key at bats and getting key outs.

If you've seen the way they've been playing the last few games, you wouldn't be happy. They're playing like shit when they're better. This team won't be in first for long if they keep playing like this.

They've lost 4 of their last 5. They haven't even been playing well and losing, they're playing poorly and losing. In the first game of the series against the Phillies, they had big RBI opportunities nearly every inning and they ran themselves out of it. Same for last night.
Also, Heilman needs to stop throwing his beach ball change up when players are sitting on it. I hate him so much, he's such a choker.

neither is a problem...sum ppl are injured so all that you said about your awesome depth was pure bulls*** then again most of your posts are just bulls*** to start off with. anyhow, the problem is they ran into a pissed off phillies team, after that brawl with the marlins, they have been playing well. they will be back doing their thing eventually.

They do have dept. Problem was that 2 of their OF starters were injured and the guy who would have taken over, Milledge (aka L Millz), was injured as well.

I should add "Managing" to the choices up there. Willie made the usual idiotic decisions managers make that end up costing games. Tonight it was the "I can't bring in a righty to face a lefty" reason. If that was true, there'd be no starting pitchers, it'd be 15 pitchers who keep switching back and forth to get guys out.

It isn't like they are doing any worse than they did last year. They had basically the same team last season. The rest of the division is just much better this season.
