you're not just not giving him credit, you're saying the will get blasted when a scouting report, which has most likely already been made, will be made. He is a young pitcher that has great stuff, maybe just as good as Lincecum.

Chamberlain's stuff when he is coming out of the pen is better than Lincecum's...

Exactly. Tonight he nearly got shelled. Let's see how he is tomorrow. Well, make that the day after because of the stupid Joba rules.

If he pitches 1 inning, he can't pitch the next day. If he pitches 2 innings, he can't pitch the next 2 innings.

If he pitches 1 inning, he can't pitch the next day. If he pitches 2 innings, he can't pitch the next 2 innings. seriously, why? Because he's been a starter his whole entire life, and plan on having him be a starter in the future. They don't want to screw up his work load or something like that.

Please. They made those rules so Torre doesn't burn out his arm.

Please. They made those rules so Torre doesn't burn out his arm. Yeah I guess you could say that as a smaller reason, but the main reason is because they don't want him to have a workload of a regular reliever with his talent. They don't want him to pitch a lot of innings this year, so he can be a starter.

joba will hav a great bordering excellent career if he stays as a MR/set-up man....he will hav a very good bordering great career if he becomes a closer (unless those rules stay, b/c then absolutely no team will want a closer that cant go bak 2 bak days)...if he becomes a starter, i believe he will hav a good career, but nothing more, unless he solidifies a major league quality 3rd pitch...having 2 pitches coming out of the pen is 1 thing, but as a starter, its totally different...

Joe Torre- "The plan for him is to be a starter," Torre said. "The reason being, he's a two-pitch pitcher right now but he has more than that. He has other stuff that as a starter he'll be able to use."
