Well, Oliver Perez has been trying to let the Phils into the game but they have not taken advantage of his poor control. A home run by Delgado and an RBI ground out have given the Mets a 2-0 lead through 6. Victorino has looked bad at the plate with a couple of popups but stellar in CF as he has run down three fly balls which could have been trouble. He and Werth collided and Vic was momentarily shaken but stayed in the game. Moyer has gone 6 and looked solid, Perez was lifted with 2 out in the 6th due to wildness. Joe Smith got Ruiz to ground out to end the inning.

Now Schoenweiss loads the bases for Ryan Howard. Howard grounds one to Delgado who throws it into Utley running to second and 2 runs score. E3 but we're tied at 2.

Victorino and Utley with RBI's as the Phils add to their lead off Aaron Heilman. Howard is intentionally walked to load the bases and Jenkins will hit. He pops out to second and Werth will get a shot. Jimmy Rollins is helped down the steps into the clubhouse and we are holding our breath that J-Roll is ok.

Phils do not score in the 9th. Gordon will try to close the game out, and Jimmy Rollins has a sprained ankle.

Schneider strikes out swinging. Endy Chavez bounces out 1-3. Reyes flies out to deep right to end the ballgame. Gordon gets a 1-2-3 save and the Phils spoil the Mets' home opener and even their season record at 4-4. Final score - Phils 5, Mets 2.

Willie Randolph should be fired.
1) He should have had Sosa or Heilman start the 7th. A PH was up and then Rollins and Victorino (switch hitters). Then brought in Schoeneweis to pitch to Utley and/or Howard. 2) Should have had Endy bunt in the 8th to move Schneider over. Endy is a good bunter and actually has better numbers against lefties. Instead he hit into a DP. 3) If they were still winning in the 8th, have Heilman pitch. Heilman is like Wagner. He pitches better when he can get a save (in Heilman's case, a save or hold). He sucks when he can't or they're losing.

Schneider wasn't on, he had struck out. Gordon faced only three hitters. Strikeout, grounder back to the box, flyout to right. Why would you bunt three runs down anyway?
