Why is Alexei Rameriz the White Sox second baseman considered a main contender for Rookie of Year?
He is batting: .312 with 9 Home Runs he is on Web Gems all the time. So why do people think Evan Longoria and Jacoby Ellsbury are better Rookies?

BA Ramirez: 311 Longoria: 278
OBP Ramirez: 331 Longoria: 350
SLG Ramirez: 478 Longoria: 534
OPS+ Ramirez: 110 Longoria: 134
HR Ramirez: 9 Longoria: 27
RBI Ramirez: 42 Longoria: 77
Ramirez is also below average defensively at 2B whereas Longoria is very much above average defensively at 3B.

Edwin Encarnacion makes great plays too. Unfortunately, he makes bad plays once every fifth game or so, making him a below-average defensive player. Basically, highlight plays doesn't mean great defensive player, that's an awful way to judge someone. Like Seaver points out, Ramirez is not even close to Longoria's stats, I guess that's why he's not considered an AL ROY. And I'm not biased, Ramirez was my pick at the beginning of the season

Ramirez RFg 4.42 league RFg 4.56
RF9 4.76 league RF9 5.00
Longoria RFg 2.62 league RFg 2.43
RF9 2.64 league RF9 2.76
Another thing, Longoria is 22. Ramirez is 26.

Lately Alexei has been on fire and Longoria has been on the DL and Rameriz has gone up to 15 home runs and now leads rookies in Stolen bases that gives him a better case now.

Royals have a good future. Much better than the White Sox who have way too many veterans.

ya, I still can't believe they did that trade for Swisher. If they don't win this year, they won't for a long time

Royals have a good future. Much better than the White Sox who have way too many veterans. Thats what they said about the Royals a few years ago they were supposed to be up and coming........but nothing happened . We are good for a while a lot of our players are young and/or under contract for a while. 2B Alexei Ramerix 26 LF Carlos Quentin 25 CF Nick Swisher 27 2B Chris Getz 25 SP-John Danks 23 SP Gavin Floyd 25 SP- Lance Broadway 24 SP- Clayton Richard 24 SP- Mark Buehrle 28 CP- Bobby Jenks 27 Thats some young and core players, and it helps if your team has a hole that your GM can go get a Free Agent something the Royals cant do without fans

Alexei is there on every play making it happen but if Troy TUlowitzski can have the award stolen from him maybe Evan Longoria can
