Because he's really not the best SS in the league.

Rollins Defensively:
.985 FP 11 E's in 162 games
Ramirez: .963 24 E's in 151
and don't give any excuses like i've seen here like oh well he had so and so at first base saving alot of his errors... Ryan Howard has brick hands.
As for offense Rollins might be a bit off of Ramirez but, He doesn't set the plate nearly as well as rollins does with TIMELY hitting , providing a spark to lift the whole team. Rollins is a stud defensively, offensively and emotionally for the Phils. I would take him over Ramirez in a second and said would most of the managers in the league. Oh one thing he doesn't do well is dance when he hits a single like some shortstops in the division. Maybe you meant he wasn't the best dancer?

Defensively, Troy Tulowitzki is better. Offensively, Hanley Ramirez is better. Counting both, Reyes is better because of his youth. Rollins' offensive stats are inflated from that bandbox.
Reyes doesn't dance every time he gets a single. He claps his hands and when he scores or a teammate scores, he does a handshake with them. I wouldn't try using that as part of your argument. It just makes your position more pathetic by having to resort to something so petty.

So throw Reyes in the top just because of his age rather then look at the total package of skills? Sounds like just another deluded mutts fan.

Ask most people (not here since everyone hates the Mets here). More would choose Reyes than Rollins. Just accept it, Jimmy Rollins is overrated. Once he was the most underrated SS in baseball. Now he's Andruw Jones.

Now he's Andruw Jones. There's a huge difference. The only thing Jones is good at is hitting 89 mph fastballs 500 ft. Besides that he's worthless, even at CF.. check his range and all of those special stats.. Jimmy Rollins is in the middle of his prime. He's a top five defensive and offensive shortstop in the NL, maybe even in all of the major leagues.

He's overrated now like Jones has been for years. He's not the best offensive SS in the league, he's not the best defensive SS in the league and he's not even the best overall SS in the league.

He's gotten real slow and has much less range.

He lost some steps but he is still a good outfielder. Just not the legend that he used to be.
