Shares managed to rise during the first few minutes of today’s session on the HCM Stock Exchange, but then sank into the red. The benchmark VN-Index slid 1.44 per cent to close at 381.63 points. Losers overwhelmed gainers by 143-85. A selling spree made the volume of trades reach 41.7 million shares, 34.5 per cent higher compared to yesterday, while market value rose by 54.8 per cent against yesterday to VNÑ629.5 billion (US$29.6 million). Eximbank (EIB) and Sacombank (STB) were the only blue chips to perform well, gaining 1.6 and 0.7 per cent respectively.
