Pujols has a sprained right elbow ligament and has said he might get surgery this season if it continues to bother him.
The Cardinals have said they're going to monitor the situation very carefully.
The injury could come back through hard throws or even a bad swing.
With the Cardinals team very weak-I really wouldn't be surprised if Pujols took a year off to get surgery.
Thoughts?

If it's going to affect him, he should have surgery. No need to waste the season trying to gut it out when you're only going to win 75 games (if that).

I think they actually believe they can win the central

I think they actually believe they can win the central Well, it's not like they're in the AL East or something...I mean, I really don't expect the Brewers to do anywhere as well as they did last season...and the Cubs will never go all the way, the Pirates of course suck-the Reds are nothing special and the Stros' definitely have holes...I mean, the Cardinals are definitely a weak team, but their division is weak as well...they have a shot.

What's their pitching look like again?

What's their pitching look like again? It sucks, but anything could happen. Carpenter is coming back, Wainwright had an excellent second half last season, Looper has had a good career...ya never know. Mulder's decent, and Reyes has potential...

I'd feel more confident saying they could possibly win if Carp and Mulder were going to be there the whole year. Carpenter is expected back around the all star break, and Mulder I think sometime in May. And of course, coming off major injuries, they are huge wild cards to even pitch well.
I like Reyes though...picked him up late in my dynasty league.

If you think the Cards can win, than I think you'd have to put the Reds into the mix. If they get lucky and their veteran pitching additions work out well, or their young pitching prospects are ready to go and fulfill expectations, then they're dangerous.
FACT- If the Reds had blown only half the saves they did last year, they would have won the Central. Most of those came in the 8th, where David Weathers will now go b/c of Cordero. Jeff Burton, a talented young reliever, will move to the 7th. Suddenly, their bullpen looks good.

Pujols isn't going under the knife this season We'll see about that...a lot of it will have to do with how the Cardinals perform this upcoming season.
