Who's the best 3-4-5 trio in the big leagues today? I'd say: David Ortiz Manny Ramirez JD Drew I think their the most powerful for 2007. #2 - Mets (Beltran, Delgado, Wright) #3 - Yankees (Abreu, A-Rod, Giambi) #4 - Jays (Wells, Overbay, Thomas) #5 - Cards (Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds)

ahh lets just say the blue jays punch will be Wells-Glaus-Thomas then Overbay, i have to say thats a pretty tough set to beat considering Wells will be a tonne better this year, he will have Rios hitting infront of him, Glaus will get more Homeruns protected by Thomas and Thomas is gung-ho about being a bluejay, this year will be a bang for the jays.
1) you have to think sooner or later the big fella Ortiz is going to be riddled by ankle/leg injuries due to his stature(regardless of being a dh) Ramirez is still boston's main choice to deal away and jeas man Drew just sucks whether he's on the DL or not, HE WILL NOT MAKE AN IMPACT AS A RED SOX! He's like trot nixon with a bigger contract and boston is too stupid to realize that!
I have to say that i will give the jays the # 2, your boston theory is dumb and is not realistic considering drew is unproven in the American League
the mets trio has to take the #1 spot

For me it's not so much about Drew...but more about Big Papi and Manny. Anything Drew does is gravy.

Utley-Burell-Howard period. Word. Even if Burell hasn't lived up to the contract,Howard and Utley are arguebaly the teo best youngsters in the game. Far from it. In terms of hitting, they are. In everything else, they are nothing spectacular.

3-4-5...is hitting. Doesn't matter what else they do. Howard is an average 1B that hit 58 dingers, Utley is the best 2B in the game...yes they are 2 of the best youngens in the game.

He said they were the 2 best youngsters in the game and they aren't. They only excel at hitting. Howard is atrocious at 1B and Utley is above average, nothing great.

He said they were the 2 best youngsters in the game and they aren't. They only excel at hitting. Howard is atrocious at 1B and Utley is above average, nothing great. Utley is not bad at second, and although I admit that Howard isn't the best fielder, do teams really care about defense that much? Usually, not. Teams tend to build their teams around hitting and pitching, not neccesarily looking for stud fielders. A few are good, but if all you have is good fielders, than you can't win.

You need good fielders, especially up the middle. If you have bad fielders you cannot win. And if you are going to say they are the best, they have to be the best at everything they do, not just one thing.

1. Boston: Ortiz, Ramirez, Drew 2. New York: Beltran, Delgado, Wright 3. Philadelphia: Utley, Howard, Burrell 4. Minnesota: Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer (this one gets overlooked alot) 5. New York: A-Rod, Giambi, Abreu

Yep I agree Twins are overlooked. I considered them, but I want to see a little more power from Mauer and Cuddyer before I put them top 5. I know power isn't the almighty factor...but yea just my opinion.
