Several local reports here in St. Louis have quoted Dave Duncan saying that Looper will most likely be a starter.
I'm not sure what to think of it.
Obviously, everyone considers him a medicore reliever.
But he has the physical ability, the amount of pitches, and the help of Duncan to transition into a decent starter.
He just needs to hold a spot until Mulder comes back.
Well, I thought you guys might be entertained by it.

Oh yeah, I guess Marlins fans will get a kick out of this too.
Once Looper realizes that he needs to pitch inside to LH, he'll be alright.
I think he'll be better than most think.

OMG......................................winning thw WS has gone to there head. I don't see how winning the World Series has anything to do with it. They lost three starters that were becoming FA, and they didn't give in to the inflated market. It's the #5 starter for Christ's sake. Even if he goes .500, he'd be a fine #5 starter. And it's only until Mulder comes back. If he completely tanks, we have Thompson, Narveson, and Franklin all ML ready starters. Looper will be fine.

Yea it's not that big of deal IMO. If he can even put up an ERA around 4.75-5.00...I think that would even be OK...as long as he can stay somewhat consistent.
