Is being investigated for purchasing HGH and Testasterone from an on-line website. Very bad news for the Angels, who gave Matthews huge money this offseason with a 5 year $50M contract. You guys think he's guilty? I actually feel like it might be a set-up type where they just wanna mix with his mind. I believe that he is innocent, but that is probably Angel fan bias talking.

Isn't he one of the guys who got overpaid this offseason.

I dunno man, it's very possible that it's true. He was really just a journeyman until last year when he put up pretty decent numbers, and it's not like he's young either, he's gonna be 33 this year. I guess it's possible he's a late bloomer, but them are rare. It would really suck for the Angels if he is guilty.
There wasn't that many players that were paid what we consider fair money this offseason.

New information on the case, Matthews allegidely started taking HGH in the beginning of the 2004 season, a year which HGH was not on the banned substances list. This means that he didn't break any rules at the time. I hope this also means that there is no way he will get suspended if he is found guilty for this offence.

I will be down on him when he fails the drug test.
Until then, this is circumstantial evidence at best.
