Hudson strong as Braves top Tigers
Right-hander allows one run on four hits in six innings

Braves at the plate: Kelly Johnson went 2-for-2 with two walks; his double scored Scott Thorman for Atlanta's first run. Corky Miller sent Atlanta ahead with an RBI double in the eighth ahead of T.J. Bohn's sacrifice fly.
Tigers at the plate: Curtis Granderson doubled and scored on a Gary Sheffield single to pull the Tigers ahead in the third inning. Brandon Inge had two singles.
Braves on the mound: Tim Hudson gave up a run on four hits in six innings with four strikeouts in his second outing against the Tigers this week. Rafael Soriano and Oscar Villarreal each added a scoreless inning of relief.
Tigers on the mound: Rogers, making his fourth consecutive start against a National League team, scattered four hits in six scoreless innings with two walks and two strikeouts. Tim Byrdak and Preston Larrison struggled in relief.
Grapefruit League records: Braves 14-9, Tigers 16-10-1.
Up next: The Tigers are back on television Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. ET game against the Yankees at Joker Marchant Stadium. With Justin Verlander pitching in a Minor League game, Jason Grilli will step into a starting role opposite Jeff Karstens. FSN Detroit will have the broadcast beginning at 1 p.m.
The Braves return to Disney on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. ET game against the Nationals. Chuck James will start opposite Matt Chico.
