Payton leaves with hamstring strain Left leg injury to Orioles left fielder not considered serious By Kelly Thesier / MLB.com
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Orioles outfielder Jay Payton left Monday's Spring Training game against the Twins in the first inning with a strained left hamstring. Payton doubled off starter Sidney Ponson to lead off the first, but Payton appeared to aggravate the hamstring while advancing to third on a groundout by Chris Gomez. Payton was then replaced by pinch-runner Freddie Bynum.
The injury was classified as a Grade 1 hamstring strain, the least severe of the three levels.
