I understand it....I don't agree with the fact that they (meaning the Japanese players) are considered "prospects", considering they have been playing pro ball for upwards of 8 or 9 years, unlike a guy like Gordon or Young who have been pro for only 2-3 years (or 1 in the case of Gordon).
Things that really got me on this list...
--Longoria at #7. Wow. He was considered the best bat of a very weak offensive class in the '06 draft. He has 2 hot months against players that were comparable to college level, and he's a top 10 prospect. No. Just No.
--Butler at #25. Bologna. He's the best pure hitter in the minor leagues, with improving defense. If you can rake, damn it you can rake, and sometimes defense doesn't really matter. Ever heard of the DH?
--The fact that Daniel Bard is even on the list. All he can do is throw his high 90's fastball. His secondary stuff is terrible.
--Andrew Miller..."The consensus top prospect"...uh obviously not if he wasn't taken first overall. And it wasn't the money...Hochevar is a Boras client.
--What the hell? Dice-K the best Japanese import ever...yet Gordon the 2007 Rookie of the Year. OK you all know I love Gordon...but that makes no sense...lol.
Off the soapbox now...
