Lind content to learn from idol Arrival of Thomas may keep outfielder in Minor Leagues By Jordan Bastian / MLB.com
DUNEDIN, Fla. -- Adam Lind can't help but smile when he talks about the trips he used to make to Chicago. He and his friends would take I-65 up through northwest Indiana, and roughly four hours later, they'd be in their seats for a White Sox game. Toronto's top prospect remembers watching Frank Thomas, whose first season with Chicago was in 1990, when Lind was just seven years old. The better part of Lind's youth was spent witnessing home run after home run mashed by The Big Hurt on the South Side of Chicago.
"The Cubs were the favorite in town," said Lind, who grew up in Anderson, Ind. "But I loved watching Frank."
