Time for 2nd base! Rickie Weeks (MIL) Chase Utley (PHI) Howie Kendrick (LAA) Ian Kinsler (TEX) Robinson Cano (NYY) With Respect to...- Alberto Callaspo (AZ)
- Alexi Casilla (MIN)
- Estaban German (KC)
I think Weeks will be the best 2B in time, he'll be a 25 HR-25 SB guy in this league, and he'll give you a .300 average. Weeks' defense is subpar, but it doesn't matter when you hit as good as him. Utley is obviously the best right now, but I (obviously) look for that to change soon, he'll be no slouch though anytime soon. Kendrick is a pure hitter that will compete for batting titles year in, year out. Kinsler is a guy that will give you above average defense, and pop 25 dingers a year, well above average at 2B. Cano will give a consistent .315 average, and develop a little power, probably 15-20 a year, again his defense is slightly subpar. Callaspo is another one of those pure hitters with fantastic strike zone judgement. He has 75 more walks in his career than K's. Casilla is Luis Castillo - with much better defense. German will get the chance to play everyday eventually...and steal you 30 bags given that chance. That is all. I have this feeling I forgot someone.

Not on my list of top 2B. I think last year for him was very flukeish and he'll regress this year. Maybe he'll prove me wrong...but 99% of the time there is a reason a player was left off the 40 man and exposed to Rule 5 draft...

They aren't trying to make him a 2B. If you heard it, it's pure speculation. If you're right, then prove me wrong.

If you're right, then prove me wrong. how can i prove you wrong....the mets had a game the other day and they were interviewing willie randolph and they asked him whats goin on with 2nd base in the future and he said that he dosent really wanna talk about the future, right now, but they're trying fernando martinez at 2nd base, a little bit...i think im gonna trust the manager

I've not seen any articles about that. The only thing I saw that in was an article on a guy asking fan questions which was moving Martinez to 2B (which was responded with a no).

Because the other guys are younger and have a higher ceiling than Utley.

Weeks has a phenomenal ceiling. 30 HR and 30 SB with a .320 average is very possible for him.
