Should be interesting to watch him this season. I think Daisuke will win ROTY if he does well.

Wouldn't surprise me if either won it. Some voters have come out and said they won't vote for the Japanese guys that come over (like when Berroa won over Matsui).
But Gordon REALLY impressed me when I saw him on TV a couple nights ago. I got to watch him in college and he was damn good then, but now he's even bigger and stronger and better than ever before. He makes the game look easy. His first ball I thought was an easy HR, a laser shot off the wall. His second hit was a line drive double over the CF's head. He got out in his next 2 AB's, but he worked the count in both of em.
Gonna be exciting to watch the offense this year!

They really shouldn't, those guys probably have atleast 5+ years of pro ball in Japan, even thoough Japan is technically a "AAAA" leauge. "AAAA"-Too good for AAA, but not good enough for MLB.

I think it's fine. Players here spend years in the Minor Leagues plus some in college. Japanese players have no real advantage over MLB players.

I don't think some 28 year old should qualify for the RotY race. They come from a profesional baseball league, our minor league prospect get drafted from college.

It is still 4 years of playing baseball. And then they spend several years working up through the minors. Our players spend years getting to the MLB and Japanese players spend a few years in a much more competitive league. I think it's even. However, I do agree a 28 year old shouldn't get the award. Dice-K is only 26 so I have no problem with it. ROTY should have an age restriction.
