MIAMI, Fla -- Right before opening day, the Marlins and the Mets may have pull off the trade of the century when both division rival decided to trade their team best players. Marlins will be packing away their Rookie of the Year, All-Star, and Ace Pitcher Hanley Ramirez, Miguel Cabrera, Dontrelle Willis, plus Aaron Boone to New York for Lasting Milledge, David Wright, Jose Reyes and Ambiorix Burgos as both team switches both SS and 3B around.
"All season long we were struggling to find a decent trade offer, but all we could come up with was Boone", said Florida Marlins GM Larry Beinfest. "Then as it seem we had our guys set for opening day, all of sudden we got a surprise call last night from New York and they offer us their main star players for Willis". The Mets were after Willis since 05 when he was the runner up for Cy Young with 22-10 2.63. "I really like this trade, it will solve our CF problem and add depth to our bullpen".
Willis will be expected to pitch for the Mets for game 2 against the Cardinals as Glavine will still pitch Game 1. "They keep on saying we have no rotation, they keep on saying we will never get Willis, well I must say Willis look good in his new uniform". Joke Mets GM. "I'm confidence that this trade will work out well for us, I will guarantee you that Willis will become the old D-Train form that he once was, just look at his career number at Shea Stadium".
Willis in the other hand express anger about this trade. "I am very disappointed about the Marlins. I started my career as the Marlins and learn nothing but hate the Mets. Every time I had a game against them, I give 100% plus 20 and I never seem to get along with them. I am really [censor] off that I just accepted a low contract offer from the Marlins to help their financial only to get hook 3 month later before season start." After hearing those quote Mets Manager Willie Randolph decided to give former Cy Young Runner up Game 2 instead of Opening Day to see if Willis will cool off. "I'm sure the extra day will calm him down, don't worry lots of pitcher get that way when they are move to a new environment, he'll eventually get use to it." Willis added "If they think I'm going to give 100% for them just because 1 extra day off, then this is going to be a very long season." "[CENSOR] you Loria!"
