Corey Patterson has a shitload of talent. He just doesn't take enough walks to be useful. He was the 3rd overall pick at one point, dude could do 30/30 if he knew the difference between ball and strike.

seaver, all of the things you're saying are your opinion. The Cubs will literally blame ANYONE when they lose. Trust me, I read the Chicago Tribune, I listen to the talk sports radio in Chicago. Thats what 100 of losing will do

But he doesn't which is why he's not worth having on a 25-man roster. Where he drafted is irrelevant. Mike Piazza went in the 62nd round and Steve Chilcott was drafted ahead of Reggie Jackson.

It's not an opinion that Dusty wants guys swinging. It's not an opinion that he says stupid stuff like "walks clog bases". Sorry, but he's a bad manager. You'll see soon enough.

Actually it IS relevant. You said he doesn't have anywhere close to the talent Bruce does, but he DOES in fact have that kind of talent and his draft status proves that. The fact that the Reds are playing him is not the problem, the problem is him leading off.

He's had one good year his whole career which was in 2004. Using his draft ranking is stupid. I'm sorry, you're usually a smart guy but using that is just dumb. Especially when it was 10 years ago. |

And BTW Seaver, you can't continue using your opinions and acting like they're facts. Dusty was my first or second choice, but I still like him. We could have better, but he's the best manager in Cincinnati in a long time. Until he proves otherwise, that will be my opinion

I'd rather have Randolph because he doesn't believe walks clog up bases or overwork pitchers. If you're content with having an idiot manager screw up your team, that's your own business. Good luck with that though.
