He's on my bench today... I think I'm going to use my #1 waiver priority on him on 1 league...10 people. Anyways, he pitched 7 innings, allowing just 1 hit (albeit a HR), and 10 K's. He'll hopefully get the W as well. Amazing.

Remember this: Cueto will be one of the few who survives Dusty Baker's god-awful managing.

Seaver, he isn't that bad. Tell me: What mistakes did he make today? He pulled Cueto at 93 pitches even though he was cruising

He's bad. For a team rebuilding with young players, he's horrible. For one thing, Jay Bruce should be playing, not Norris Hopper or Corey Patterson who Baker creams his pants over. He also hates walks and wants patient hitters like Dunn and Votto to become free swingers.

Seaver, he isn't that bad. Tell me: What mistakes did he make today? He pulled Cueto at 93 pitches even though he was cruising Yeah...I wonder what would've happened had he not allowed that one hit. Anyways, the 93 pitches just shows how efficient he is...he could have easily pitched another inning at least. Also, when I was watching the game I noticed that at the beginning he was striking everyone out--then in the last few innings he was getting a lot of ground balls and pitching more to contact--in order to keep his pitch count low. Another thing--he had complete control and almost always started off the count ahead. He went right after the hitters, often being ahead 0-2. Control problems is what most younsters struggle with...I don't think that's going to be much of an issue with Cueto. The only slighly negative thing to say is that all this came against the Diamondbacks--who hit an N.L. low .250 last season. But still, nevertheless--this kid is for REAL!

One other thing I wanted to add--one of the Reds announcers said he predicts that Cueto will win the CY Young Award...and that was after just the first inning, lol.
I took a second look at Cueto's start and WOW--He has NASTY pitches!

He was probably joking. Was it Brantley?(southern accent). It had to be on the radio, because the Reds TV wasn't broadcasting yesterday
And seaver, Baker isn't changing anything with Dunn's approach. He told him to keep on doing what he's doing, but OK.
Its your opinion that Bruce should be playing. Honestly, I'd rather keep him in AAA for a month, then bring him up.
And look, he really hasn't been favoring veterans over rookies. Instead of having the GM get a SS, he's letting Keppinger play. And, he's giving Encarnacion a spot in the lineup every day, regardless of his struggles. And, he put a rookie with no experience and a youngster with very little experience in the starting rotation. And, he convinced the GM and owner to take to pay Mike Stanton $5 million to leave, because he's awful. I know that he has a questionable past, but you aren't even looking at what he's done

Nah, Bruce should be in AAA. He struck out A LOT last year, and that is something that almost directly translates into the big leagues. I wouldn't be concerned if he took a ton of walks, but he didn't do that either. Really, we're probably looking at .250/.300/.425 with 150+ strikeouts or something if Bruce plays the whole year in the bigs. He's going to be a nice player, a very nice player, but he's not going to rake out of the gate.

You had to of been watching the Diamondbacks announcers, because I'm positive that the game wasn't on in Cincinnati. Or, they just put the radio guys on MLBTV, showing the action while listening to them.

Yeah, maybe they just put the radio announcers and the TV on at the sametime...but there's a difference between radio announcers and tv announcers. When your announcing games on the radio you have to say everything that happens...when you announce a game on TV you just have to announce your thoughts on what happens because everyone could see whats happening. Anyways, it could have been the Diamondbacks announcers--but they were advertising Reds games,...etc. They also just seemed to be more informed and knowledgable about the Reds than the Diamondbacks. Maybe it's possible they still announced the game and they just didn't put it on TV because the TV station wanted to show something else at that time...I don't know.

"And seaver, Baker isn't changing anything with Dunn's approach. He told him to keep on doing what he's doing, but OK." I heard he wants his guys swinging more.
"Its your opinion that Bruce should be playing. Honestly, I'd rather keep him in AAA for a month, then bring him up." Why? Jay Bruce has more talent in his rear end than Corey Patterson and Norris Hopper have combined.
"And look, he really hasn't been favoring veterans over rookies. Instead of having the GM get a SS, he's letting Keppinger play. I know that he has a questionable past, but you aren't even looking at what he's done" What are the alternatives to Keppinger and Encarnacion?
As for the pitchers, their pitching is so awful he has no other options.
Cubs fan were all for Dusty when he got there. He wore out his welcome.

Even if he put up those numbers, it's better than anything Corey Patterson could dream of. And he outslugs both Patterson and Hopper. Reds should let him take his lumps at the major league level. Not like they're playing for a pennant.
