Indians at the plate: Ryan Garko continues to come through in the clutch. He drove in a run with an RBI single in his first at-bat and knocked in two more with a homer down the left-field line in the fifth. Jhonny Peralta contributed a sacrifice fly in the first. Andy Marte added a pair of hits.
Braves at the plate: The split-squad Braves got on the board early with Chipper Jones' RBI single in the first. Jones also cranked out a solo homer in the third.
Indians on the mound: The Indians made this a bullpen day, as right-hander Tom Mastny, who will be in the Triple-A Buffalo 'pen, got the start. Mastny gave up two runs in the first inning but settled down with a 1-2-3 second inning in which he struck out a pair. Fernando Cabrera was stretched out to three innings, during which all he allowed was the Jones homer.
Braves on the mound: Right-hander Buddy Carlyle took a walk on the wild side. He threw three wild pitches in four innings of work. He allowed a pair of runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout. Tyler Yates served up the two-run homer to Garko.
Grapefruit League records: Indians 13-10-1; Braves 13-9.
Up next: The Indians head out to Vero Beach, Fla., to take on the Dodgers at 1:05 p.m. ET on Sunday. Right-hander Jake Westbrook will start opposite right-hander Jason Schmidt. The Braves have a 1:05 p.m. home game against the Nationals. Left-hander Chuck James will face left-hander Matt Chico.
