Record: 3-1 ERA: 2.08 WHIP: 1.08 IP: 26 K/BB: 14/6 OPPAVG: .217 OppOBP: .287 OppSLG: .283
Whose numbers are those, you ask?
That's right, Braden Looper. And for all the people that will say, "He's a reliever, he won't handle a full season." Save it. We just need him to pitch until Mulder comes back.

Wow, he's dominant in 4 starts Let's see his numbers in the long haul against good teams. That's what matters most. April wins against the Pirates, Brewers, and Cubs isn't that impressive.

It doesn't matter. He's a #5 starter. Just keeping us in the game is enough. But he is pitching very well. Considering how much he was bashed when people found out he would be a starter, I thought it deserved to be pointed out. He'll only have like 7 or 8 more starts. Even if he loses all of the games he has left (he won't), it's better than people expected.

Obviously he's pitching well, the teams he's won against suck. Atleast wait until April is over before you start the smack talk.

Brewers and Cubs both have pretty good offenses. Especially the Cubs. The Pirates were hot when he pitched against him.
I'm not just basing this on numbers. Unlike you, I've seen every single pitch he has thrown this season. He is a completely different pitcher. Not only different from when he was on the Marlins or the Mets, but even different from last year.
He's always had the body of a starter. He has enough pitches to be a starter. He's stopped the "blow it by them to try to get the strikeout" mentality. He now just tries for groundballs, which is what he is getting.
As for waiting until April is over... why? Do these games not count? It doesn't matter who he is playing against. Is it only supposed to count if he is pitching against the Mets?
Going into the season, the biggest question mark for the Cardinals was the rotation behind Carpenter. But even when Carpenter is out, the other starters are still doing well. It's the offense that's killing us. Looper has definitely been a highlight though.

April stats are misleading. Jimmy Rollins is leading the NL in Home runs but you don't see people saying he's going to hit 50 this season.

According to the genius John Kruk, he should be the Phillies cleanup hitter

I'm not saying Braden is going to win the Cy Young. I'm just pointing out that he got a lot of crap on this board when I said that Loop was becoming a starter. People talked about how he would get rocked. Just saying he has started off well.
I will point out again, we only need him to last until the ASB.

Only 1 of those 4 starts was vs. a good team...and he gave up 3 ER in 6 innings...not so great.
And as it was said before, just 4 starts means nothing. Had he completely dominated then maybe it would mean something. But just merely pitching "well" doesn't make me jealous at all.

Depends your definition of a "good" team.
He's getting major league hitters out. They're all good in my book.

Depends your definition of a "good" team. Teams not in the NL Central.

Who represented the NL in the World Series the last three years?
Oh yeah... NL Central teams.
