Not good teams? Have you looked at the cub’s lineup as far as hitting goes? look at it like this ever since Lou took control of the Cubs they have spent almost the same amount of money on their players as the Yankees, and not to mention how much Espn has been blowing on their... Looper is doing great for someone who every expert sports writer and team annalist said would suck.

Who represented the NL in the World Series the last three years? Oh yeah... NL Central teams. What does that have to do with this season? Oh yeah....NOTHING

ur all right he is pitching against weak teams, but he is not pitching against weak lineups...the cubs have lee, ramirez, soriano, cliff floyd, izturez, derosa, and jaqcue jones, that is no pushover...the brewers have bill hall, rickie weeks, prince fielder, and other solid veterens...also am i mistaken or did he get a quality start against reyes, wright, beltran, delgado, laduca, grenn, alou, and valentin? stop bashing braden, he is our 5th starter and he is outdoing most everybody's 2nd and 3rd starters...yes its early, but until he starts getting pelted nobody can deny what he is doing

Is there really another Cardinal fan on here? What's up and why have I not seen any of your posts yet? I have been waiting for another Cards fan to help me out on this board filled with Yankees fans, Mets fans, Marlins fans, and... doublestix

They both make very valid points. and not to metion the fact that we don't have to have him all year. We only need him until Carpenter and Mark get back, but if Mark's on crack when he comes back, I'm perfectly fine with looper finishing out the season.

[quote[the brewers have bill hall, rickie weeks, prince fielder, and other solid veterens...[/quote] They're good but they're still young and inexperienced. He pitched decently until he ran out of gas and got pounded for 3 runs. He's doing better than most teams 5th starters, definitely not 2 and 3.

Looper did NOT get tired in the Mets game. Stamina is NOT an issue right now. He has gone 6+ IP in all of his starts. He threw a mistake pitch to Beltran. He made sure everyone knew that he wasn't tired after that game.

Obviously he wasn't the same pitcher from the first inning.

yes there is another cards fan on this board...oh and by the way 3-1 with a 2.08 era is better than alot of 2nd and 3rd starters...according to mlb.com depth charts, the mets number 2 , orlando hernandez, is 2-1 with a 3.24...so i rest my case on that...considering it was loopers first start after being a reliever his entire career, it's not suprising that he ran out of gas against the mets...but did u ever stop to think that maybe the mets just figured him out after he made them look foolish the first two times through the lineup? and whether the brewcrew is inexperienced or not, their lineup has some serious pop, as does the cubs and mets...looper has proven he can pitch, he deserves at least a little respect

Yes. There are now three cards fans on here now. Don't worry cardsfan643 we got your back. I feel as if I don't need to add anything extra at this time. cdubble and cardsfan643 seem to be making all of my points just before I can.

Very nice. I have been waiting for some more Cardinal fans to come to have my back on all of these arguments. Not too long ago, there was a discussion on whether Chris Carpenter is an ace or not...
