Jennings to work out elbow
By JOSE DE JESUS ORTIZ Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle
Astros righthander Jason Jennings, who is on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his right elbow's flexor tendon, is planning to throw for the first time since he was sent to Houston to see the team doctors on April 13.
"It feels good right now," he said. "Obviously it's not a true test, but I'm optimistic."
He underwent a cortisone injection in the elbow last Monday and rested his arm in the first step of his rehab.
The rest and cortisone shot, "those two things combined I'm hoping can hopefully get that inflammation out of there (to) hopefully get the upper hand on it," he said."It was the other way a couple of weeks ago."
Jennings will slowly work his elbow back.
"I think it's just the normal stuff you do, dumbbell exercises, rotator cuff exercises, just overall an arm program that's normal arm exercises we do to keep us going all year," he said. "I think Dave ( Labossiere, the head athletic trainer) is going to kind of hook that up. We'll probably start off 60 feet or 90 feet. We'll probably try to progress pretty quickly, go back farther every day and eventually go off the mound."

Ya' know... I have to assume the Astros knew about Jennings elbow before the trade... simply because they haven't said anything. That's disappointing. Right now, it doesn't seem like a huge problem, and Sampson and Albers are holding their own, BUT...
