PHOENIX -- Jeff Suppan and Johnny Estrada will not be the only new attractions at Miller Park this season.
The team is set to roll out a number of new features when the Brewers host their "On Deck" open house on April 1 before opening the season against the Los Angeles Dodgers the following day.
Tops on that list is the new "Club on the Club," an all-inclusive party area that occupies what used to be four suites on the club level at the ballpark. Construction on the project was completed last week, and sales are strong, according to vice president of business operations Rich Schlesinger.
"We haven't sold out yet, but we will," he said.
The 9,000 square-foot, open-air space has room for 240 fans, and packages are available for season seatholders and groups. Individual fans instead must choose from among a variety of four-game-and-up season ticket packages and will get reserved seating plus inclusive draft beer and house wine. For group packages the seats are not reserved, but each group member will receive two draft beers or house wines with their game ticket.
Prices range from $89-$99 per ticket for season seatholder packages and $69-$99 per ticket for groups.
"We can seat 240 people in there, but we first want to make sure we can take care of a smaller number," Schlesinger said. "We want to offer impeccable service out there. It has to be first-rate."
Fans interested in information about the Club on the Club should call the Brewers at (414) 902-4090. The team has open houses scheduled for next Tuesday and Thursday.
Other new features at Miller Park this year:
• The team used more than 6,500 bricks left over from Milwaukee County Stadium to create a new backdrop for the Mercedes Benz Field Haus, the all-inclusive party area built on what used to be the warning track in right field. The back wall was designed with a back wall made of wood that had deteriorated.
"They just finished it Tuesday and it looks great," Schlesinger said. "It really pops, and I think people will like the blending of the old with the new."
The Field Haus is already sold out for 2007.
• The team plans early in the season to install 20 new, 50-inch flat-panel television displays on the field level and loge level concourses. The displays will feature live updates from Major League games, sports news, entertainment, trivia and advertising.
• At the ballpark's home plate entrance, fans will notice two new permanent displays recognizing the contributions of baseball's Hispanic and Negro League players. The materials were previously displayed in the "Hot Corner" area of Miller Park, which is now dedicated to artifacts and photos from the 1957 Braves and 1982 Brewers teams, plus as an area dedicated to preserving the memory of County Stadium.
• Several kiosks throughout the stadium will allow fans to make ticket purchases and provide will-call distribution services. These self-service kiosks will be located in various locations, including at the Main Gate entrance and the hot corner.
• The Fan Zone store in the hot corner is getting a second entrance and dressing room space. Construction will be completed early in the season.
• The Brewers will provide wireless Internet capabilities throughout the parking lots at Miller Park.
• Speaking of the parking lots, an express lane for preferred parking pass holders will expedite travel time to the park. Pass holders utilizing Frederick Miller Way northbound can access preferred parking lots and avoid cash lines by displaying their pass to the parking attendant. The special lane will open 60 minutes prior to the first pitch of every Brewers home game.
• The World Famous Klement's Racing Sausages will welcome back their newest member, "The Chorizo." He will be on hand at Miller Park for all 81 regular season games this season.
