I wonder if the Yankees have now learned not to pay for a player that had a career year. Not sure what you are getting at, because its not like he had a fluke year and pitched awful for the Yanks. His problem was he never got to pitch due to to injuries. So it has nothing to do with them signing him off his best season. Plus it said if he has surgery. Not definant he is having surgery.

When he did pitch he wasn't worth the money. He barely pitched, and when he did pitch he was pitching injured.

That's why he wasn't worth the money. He did have a fluke year in the last year of his contract which got him big bucks for the Yankees. Look at his numbers before, not something you'd expect to get the money he did.
