Twins sell out Opening Day Few obstructed-view seats remain available for April 2 By Kelly Thesier / MLB.com
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- It will be a packed house at the Metrodome for Opening Day, as the Twins announced on Monday that the team's season opener on April 2 vs. the Orioles is sold out. While the 6:05 p.m. CT game has been declared a sellout, there are a limited number of obstructed-view tickets that remain for sale in the Upper Club seating area. Normally priced at $20, those tickets are now available for $10.
It is the fourth time in the past five years that the Twins have sold out a home opener. Before that stretch, which began in 2002, the Twins had last sold out their first home game on April 10, 1992, when 53,031 fans were in attendance to watch the club host the Blue Jays. The official capacity for baseball was reduced before the 1996 season and now stands at 46,632.
Tickets remain available for the balance of the Twins' opening home series against the Orioles, April 3-4. More information can be found by visiting twinsbaseball.com
