Injured again...and he probably won't be ready when the 15 days are over. If the Twins want any shot--they need this guy.
Twins placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right index finger.
Sometimes a dislocation can be played through, but the Twins don't think Cuddyer will be able to throw for at least two weeks. They'll go with Craig Monroe in right field for the next two weeks. Jason Kubel also benefits, since he'll no longer have to worry about finding himself on the bench against righties. Joe Mauer and Mike Redmond could both see time at DH against lefties. Denard Span will act as the fourth outfielder.
