It isn't. I still doubt they will make the playoffs. Detroit is too good to suck for so long, same with the Indians.

And beating good teams. Any team could have gotten back in a playoff race playing the Rays, Royals, and White Sox 100 times in 3 weeks.

I'm 99.9% 100% sure they win the WC. The additions of Hughes and Chamberlain will surely help the pitching staff. Whether they can catch Boston or not, I'm not as sure about.

Hughes and Chamberlain aren't saviors. You don't know what you'll get out of them and, IMO, they're being rushed. Seattle is a pesty team and are in the hunt, Indians are too good to suck for so long.

The Yankees lost a series to the Giants. The Red Sox swept the Giants. You can pick out a bunch of teams the Yankees beat in a series that the Red Sox didn't. It doesn't mean anything. What's more important is how those teams played. You could lose 2 games against a team and the score be 2-1 or 1-0. You could lose 2 other games and be blown out 10-2 or 11-4.
