Mussina settles after rocky start; Rodriguez hits second homer

Blue Jays at the plate: The Jays sent eight men to the plate in the first inning, with Vernon Wells stroking an RBI double and Frank Thomas knocking a two-run single. Wells also banged a RBI double in the second and singled in the fourth.
Yankees at the plate: Hideki Matsui and Robinson Cano put the Yankees on the board with run-scoring singles to right in the fourth inning. Bobby Abreu tripled to the gap in right-center field in the sixth inning and showed no ill effects from his right oblique strain. Alex Rodriguez followed with his second home run of the spring, a shot over the center-field wall.
Blue Jays on the mound: Victor Zambrano made his first start of the spring for Toronto, holding the Yankees to two runs and four hits over four innings. Zambrano walked two and struck out three. Casey Janssen relieved and allowed two runs and four hits in three innings, including a home run.
Yankees on the mound: Mike Mussina threw 79 pitches in his fifth start of the spring, settling in after a shaky beginning. Mussina allowed four runs (three earned) over six innings, throwing four scoreless innings after allowing runs in the first two frames. The right-hander surrendered seven hits, walking two and striking out one.
Grapefruit League records: Blue Jays 9-11-3; Yankees 12-9-2.
Up next: The Yankees travel to Lakeland, Fla., to see the Tigers on Sunday, facing off at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Jeff Karstens is scheduled to start for New York, with right-hander Justin Verlander going for Detroit.
The Blue Jays host the Reds in Dunedin, Fla., with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Tomo Ohka is scheduled to start for Toronto.
