KANSAS CITY -- It's taken four years for Alex Rodriguez to feel comfortable playing for the Yankees. Now, he is producing one of the greatest seasons in club history.
A smiling and excited Rodriguez added another impressive chapter to his list of accomplishments on Saturday night in the Yankees' 11-5 win over the Royals. He set a Major League record and hit his 50th and 51st homers of the season, the 514th and 515th of his career, off Brian Bannister.

"It takes some people four full years to get comfortable," Rodriguez said. "I am a goofy guy and I make a lot of mistakes. Sometimes you just have to be able to laugh at yourself, and I have not done that enough."

He broke the HR record.....in the AL.......at 3B. That's too obscure for me.

The catcher's record is different. You can be horrible defensively but great offensively at any other position. Just look at Carlos Delgado, Jeff Kent, Jeter, Chipper Jones, and Manny Ramirez.

You can't do that as a catcher. If you suck you get moved to 1B or LF.

Yeah, but he's still way down on the list. Plus Mantle was a switch hitter.

2) i deff think he's overrated, but jeter is not horrible defensivly by any means...he's decent...not top 10, but not bottom 10...

1) I don't put much stock into those. Righty, lefty, switch, doesn't make much of a difference.
2) He's bad. He's actually one of the worst in baseball. Only Carlos Guillen is worse.

idk about that, hanley ramirez has like 28 errors...jeter is top 15, but not in the top 10...he's a decent defensive player...don't be too much of a yankee hater
