Padres...and I'm prepared to back it up, though I don't think you disagree.

Padres...and I'm prepared to back it up, though I don't think you disagree. Well, I'd love to say that... I'd love for the team to prove me wrong... let's see what kind of offense they can produce, because I'm feeling great about the starting pitching and relief corps. ESPN.com's poll (as of today) ranks San Diego tops in the NL in bullpen strength and third in starting pitching, behind the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. I would like to see what kind of contribution Kuroda makes to LA before I put them ahead of our Padres. But the Arizona staff, with Webb and Heren, that's nasty. But Peavy and Young are just as nasty, so long as Young's back holds out. Right now, I think Arizona has the mojo, and the Padres will fight them to the end. Colorado will be there too, although I don't think their pitching will be enough to carry them to the same heights... considering that Jennings is gone.

I think we can win it ifour offense improves A lot will depend upon how Edmonds goes. If he's healthy, he could be a big contributor, say 25 HR and 90 RBI. I'd like to see Crabbe and PMAC get a good look out there, as well as Hairston... gee, we have a logjam of outfielders, at least potentially ;D

The D'Backs. They've got a lot of good, young solid players, on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
