It's hard for me to be interested in it. It's not like the NFL or NBA draft where you know about the draftees and they will be pro within 1 or 2 seasons. Most MLB draftees are from unfamiliar colleges and few even get into the majors. Those that do spend several years in the minors.

Understood. For me it's obviously much more exciting, because duh, the Royals always have a top pick and get a premier player. I also write minor league writeups for scout.com for the Royals...so I follow our minor league system pretty well and I'd be interested in who I'm following.

It is so awesome that they are finally televising the draft. Hopefully the ratings will be good enough that they will play it every year.

The Orioles have a nice pick at #5. I'm just pissed that we flushed our 2nd and 3rd round picks down the toilet to sign mediocre relievers.
