I know about all the stats. When I look at guys who hit in the heart of the order, I look at BA more. Hits bring in runs. Walks rarely do.
His SLG that season was only .531. Chipper's was 65 pts better. His OPS has never crossed 1.000 mark, even in his best season.

When you are batting the object is to avoid making an out. Re:Jones: I know that he is not one of the elite hitters in all of baseball, although he is very good. I was pointing out that just looking at the the .263 BA may be a little deceiving when his OBP was 84 points higher than his BA.

Frank Catalanotto....(underrated)
He does have a 295. career Batting Average, and he doesn't stirke out very often. I know he isn't an all-star type player, but he has always been consistent. Plus, not many people would know who he is. Even if you disagree with me, you have to admit that he is atleast slightly underrated.
