Reports are now saying Kazmir might miss a start or 2 in the season.

Tampa might go .500 this year if a bullpen guy or two can really step up.
Obviously, Kazmir missing any significant time would completely derail that.

I don't think Kazmir would really matter so much. Obviously he's a great pitcher-but he hasn't been winning much with the Rays anyways.
Over the last 3 seasons, his highest ERA was 3.77--and yet, he's only 33-26 over that span.
But Kazmir is really developing...not only did he get 239 K's last season, but in the second half he went 8-3 with a 2.39 ERA.

tampa bay need Kazmir heathly They don't really "need" him healthy...they're in the same division as the Yankees and Red Sox...they need a lot more talent to make the playoffs. The Devil Rays just need him for the future...he's going to be their ace for a long time from the looks...

Just a little update...
I doubt Kazmir is gonna miss any time during the season since he seems very confident that he wont by saying it's "out of the question" and "not going to happen." Considering those statements, I'd be very surprised if he starts the season on the DL.

Another update...I guess when they say he'll be in line to join the Rays rotation the first of the season-they mean opening day for the Rays.
Anyways, this is definitely positive news for the Rays.

its better to keep him out for a season game then losing him for the year.
