Halladay makes short work of Rangers
Glaus leads home run barrage in Blue Jays' victory

TORONTO --- Roy Halladay went the distance and put forth another dominating performance as the Blue Jays cruised to a 6-1 win over the Rangers on Monday night at Rogers Centre.
Halladay (4-0) allowed just one run on five hits over nine innings. It was the righty's second complete game of the season and 26th of his career.
Halladay's only mistake of the game came on a hanging curveball to Sammy Sosa in the first inning. Sosa lined it down the left-field line, just past a diving Troy Glaus at third base, to score center fielder Kenny Lofton and put Texas ahead, 1-0. From there on, Halladay was almost perfect. Toronto's Opening Day starter faced the minimum during a stretch that lasted from the second inning until the seventh.
Glaus opened the scoring for the Jays in the bottom of the second inning. He homered to the opposite field on a 2-2 fastball from Rangers starter Vicente Padilla to even the score at 1. Two batters later, second baseman Aaron Hill crushed another one of Padilla's fastballs into the second deck in left field. It was Hill's fifth home run of the season.
Left fielder Adam Lind hit a solo shot for the Jays in the bottom of the seventh inning. The 23-year-old sent a 2-2 fastball from Padilla over the wall in left. It was the rookie's third home run in his last four games. Toronto added two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth on a Glaus RBI single to center and a Hill sacrifice fly to center.
Padilla (0-4) took the loss after surrendering four runs on six hits over seven innings.
