Hunter likes D.C. because of it's large African American population, though it's still a long shot that he'll end up there. It's not especially surprising, but this makes three teams now that have specified contact with both Hunter and Rowand but not Andruw Jones. With former Braves president Stan Kasten in their front office, the Nationals were thought to be a deep sleeper to land Jones. However, there's a good chance that they'll pass on the top free agents for another year.
