Scott Hairston got traded to the Padres, Russel Branyan was released by the Padres. Tadahito Iguchi went to the Phillies for a A reliever (the Phillies' pitching coach's son) Mets are looking at Luis Castillo, though he won't be traded before the deadline. He could be traded after it though. Mets scouted the D-Rays (and vice versa). The Mets have been interested in Ty Wigginton, Edwin Jackson, and JP Howell. The D-Rays are trying to throw Al Reyes in a possible deal as well. Jorge Sosa, Aaron Heilman, Scott Schoeneweis, Mike Pelfrey, Tobi Stoner, Kevin Mulvey, Jon Adkins, and Mike Carp are on the block for the Mets. Mets are looking at Chad Cordero to be a SU but they'll ask for too much. They're also looking at Chad Bradford and Jay Payton. i thought they really liked mulvey

They do but he's on the block. I doubt they'll even trade him.

He won't be very cheap.
When the Mets asked about Gagne, the Rangers wanted both Philip Humber and Mike Pelfrey. They won't trade Gagne for 1 pitching prospect straight up.
UPDATE: The price of Gagne has come down a bit. The Yankees aren't interested as much. Probably since they have no buyers for Proctor or Farnsworth. Mets are very interested though.
Teixiera to the Braves is pretty close to being complete. Texas got the better end of that deal.
The interest in Adam Dunn has pretty much died down. I haven't read a single thing on him in weeks.

Texas now wants Carlos Gomez for Eric Gagne which is not cheap. Beside, the Yankees (and Mets) aren't interested anymore.

They won't. They could get Al Reyes for a more reasonable price. The price on Cordero is probably Gomez but that's less ridiculous since Cordero is young, not injury prone, and is a FA in 2009.
