Sorry folks, I was too excited over my new Hofner bass guitar to start the game thread on time.

We're in the 7th and it's Jayson Werth 8, the rest of the Phils 2 and the Jays 3. Werth needs a two- run shot for a "cycle of homers." He hit a three run jack in the 2nd, a grand slam in the 3rd and a solo shot in the 5th. Jamie Moyer went 6-2/3 giving up 3 runs. 10-3 Phils bottom 7.

Werth popped out in the 7th, but he has tied the club record for RBI in a game with 8. Still 10-3 through 7. Marlins trail the Royals 4- in the 7th as well.

I've always liked Purcey's stuff -- he just needs to learn to pound the zone and let that stuff work for him.

Phils go quietly in the 8th. Condrey in to wrap it up in the 9th, 10-3 Phillies.

Condrey gives up a 1 out hit, gets a force out then another hit. Jays have runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 away. Scutaro works a full count after being down 0-2. He grounds out to Jimmy Rollins. Phils win 10-3.

Royals add a 2 run homer by Olivo and they now lead the Marlins 6-2 in the 8th.

Who's worried? I am merely stating a fact. It's a game which affects my favorite team's standing in the division. All the games count, not just the ones in September.
