Yes yes I know, copy from another game thread, but what can I do when the game just started.
Today the Marlins face this year grandpa of baseball. Moyer who is now 45, is still playing in the mayor league because of his continuing reliable pitching despite his age. His 4.45 ERA so far in the season is good enough to keep him in the clubhouse for 1 more year. Moyer opponent is Andrew Miller. After struggling badly in April, it seem the young lefty is finally figuring out how to pitch. His ERA so far is 5.12, but in the last 30 days his ERA is 2.43. He's finally showing sign why he is being compare to Randy Johnson, they both take advantage of their arm length to add more movement to their slider. He is still due for crappy outing as he is still maturing, but in a few years he is expected to pull a Randy Johnson. Interesting note: Miller was born a year after Moyer got drafted.
Key for Marlins: Miller need to be on today, and keep his mistake pitches to a minimum. Don't get wild and leave your fastball in the middle of the plate.
Key for Philles: Marlins sluggers hate soft tosser, Moyer need to take advantage of that by throwing those curveball to keep them quiet all game long. They just don't do good against pitchers like Maddux, Zito, or Moyer.
Troll prediction: This one can go either way, its too hard to tell. Biggest factor will come to Andrew Miller.
