DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit Tigers right-hander Jeremy Bonderman likely will miss the rest of the season after undergoing medical procedures related to a blood clot.
Bonderman was examined Friday at the Detroit Medical Center, the team says in a statement, and it was determined he has a "blood clot of the axillary vein due to thoracic outlet compression syndrome."
Bonderman, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Saturday's home game against the Cleveland Indians, was expected to undergo further examinations later.
