In other words, overrated injured player (Van Ryn) for another injured player who could potentially be one of the Top 10 D-Man in the NHL (McCabe)...

The deal won't become official until McCabe gets some sort of roster bonus from the Leafs... The story says there may be also another player added to go to the Panthers...

McCabe will never be a top 10 defenseman. Trust me, I have seen him for many years now, he will never be in the Top 10. This is a good trade for both teams and players. McCabe can put some goals in (Hopefully more in the other teams net), but getting outside of the Toronto Media and the Toronto fans will help, especially considering he's going to a place, where no gives a damn about Hockey. Van Ryn can be a solid D-man, but injuries may come into play. Van Ryn was expected to be a number one or two d-man when he entered the league. He won't have that pressure in Toronto. Kaberle and Kubina will be one-two, and the media will focus on Luke Schenn and Jeff Finger, so Van Ryn can hopefully quietly do his things and make some noise.
