OK, you are just plain stupid one this one. THEY HAVE NEW...AND MANAGER WHO ALL WANT TO WIN, UNLIKE PREVIOUS YEARS Now if Dusty can figure out HOW to win, they are capable of being a decent team. They won't own next year. It takes time for young players to reach their potential. |

1) While Dusty is a questionable manager, he was won before
2) I don't think they'll do much in 2009; I was thinking more of the future

Dusty is a dumbass. His teams have never won a WS. He was only successful with the Giants because of Bonds and he was only successful with the Cubs b/c he rode Prior and Wood to the point where they physically broke down. I feel bad for Cueto, Volquez, and Bailey.

Do you put all the blame on Dusty for Wood and Prior? I put some, but not all. Wood's mechanics suck and Prior's arm isn't the only trouble he's had. Plus, they're still both very good friends, and obviously don't blame him for their injuries

Their mechanics were flawed but Dusty overused them to a ridiculous degree and does deserve blame.
Just because they're friends doesn't make what Dusty did any less significant.
Enjoy having bums like Corey Patterson on the team and seeing Jay Bruce or Joey Votto bunt with a guy on 1st and no one out.

Managers are overrated, they get too much credit on what his team is doing. Its hard to predict the future 3 years from now, there are too many variables like injuries.
