Do these products and services actually make our lives more convenient or do they simply create new problems? Modern conveniences have made a huge impact on today society. They help us study, keep us safe, and overall make our life easier and better. Yet there are people who prefer cable over satellite for their TV, or dial-up over cable for their Internet connection. People who are against modern conveniences are just jealous because they can't afford to buy new products to keep up with their peers. Why are they against it when they can still use their dial-up Internet connection, cable TV, and their other stuff while their peers can enjoy their modern conveniences? All they are doing is putting their peers down when they make an argument against modern conveniences. Modern conveniences have made things possible that weren't possible before.
Modern conveniences have made our world safe like cellphones for an example. There are people who will not go out unless they have their cellphone with them in case of an emergency. If their car suddenly breakdown in the middle of nowhere then the person can use his cellphone to call for help. Another good example is home security. The burglar alarm is use to call the police when there is an intruder in your home. There is also the Global Positioning System navigation system that is use to help travelers show their way to their destination.
Modern conveniences have made learning easier and faster like computers for example. With Internet access, people can look for information whenever they want for their study. Wikipedia is a good website for getting started on finding information, and search engines to find websites. Classes can be taken online if people wish to. There are programs to do assignments on the computer like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Power Point. Printers are use to print out essays more professional and readable. There has been talk about replacing books with computers for classes to save money for the school and to help save the environment.
One thing about modern conveniences that we really like to use for is for entertainment. We use DVD player to watch movies, iPod to listen to music, and console to play video games. Entertainment seems to be the focus for this generation. And why not, if that's what make them happy, then why denied it. Gamers are always looking forward to the latest big market game to see how the graphic have improved in the game. And after Xbox Live was introduced, the experience of playing video games have never been the same again.
With all the improvement and the new possibilities that modern conveniences have brought us, I must say that I am with modern conveniences and I look forward to what it has in store for us in the future.
