Not too much NFL news for today. I'll get you an injury report sometime later.
- The Washington Redskins signed veteran offensive linemen Rick DeMulling today. The six-year player was cut by the Colts before the start of week 1. The move comes after starting guard Randy Thomas underwent surgery yesterday to repair a torn triceps suffered in Monday's win over the Eagles. DeMulling will provide a solid veteran backup for the rest of the season.
- The Niners suffered a huge blow today as they lost 2nd year linebacker and starter Manny Lawson for the year. Lawson suffered a torn ACL at yesterday's practice. It will require season-ending surgery, and a spot for him on the IR list. Lawson was a first round pick of San Francisco last year. In his rookie season, he compiled 57 tackles, 2½ sacks, one interception and two passes defensed, while starting 11 games. His replacement is not know as of yet.
- The Jaguars had a bad injury loss today as they places starting strong safety Gerald Sensabaugh on the IR because of a left shoulder injury which will require surgery. Sensabaugh suffered the injury on Sunday's game against the Falcons. So far this year, Gerald has 8 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. This diminishes the Jaguars hopes and plan of going young at the safety position. The Jaguars lost starting free safety Deon Grant to the Seahawks, and released veteran strong safety Donovan Darius. This is Sensabaugh's 3rd year in the league. Him and the Jaguar's 1st round pick, Reggie Nelson, were planned to both start at safety. The 11 year veteran Sammy Knight will likely take over at strong safety now.
- Bills tight end Kevin Everett will be transfered to Houston hospital tomorrow morning to take a major step in recovering from a life-threatening spinal cord injury suffered in week 1 against the Broncos-walk. Everett will not be walking normally, but doctors say he could be standing up by himself within weeks or sooner. This is great news, and lets all keep Everett and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
