as i said in the box, the Brewers were trying to dump him off or release him. Also, he's awful defensively, very slow, and undisciplined at the plate. The fans were calling for Miller to start in September

redswin08, you do not know how awful Mota was. The Mets should hold a ticker tape parade for this. But they need to wait in case they get a big pitcher.

u dont understand, forget about estrada, period...OMAR MINAYA WAS ABLE TO TRADE MOTA FOR AN ACTUAL PLAYER!!!...i would hav traded him for a gift certificate to the dollar store

Dude, the Mets were lucky to get someone with a pulse for Mota. He was awful, complete garbage, less than useless. The fact that they got a catcher under 35 capable of starting 120 games is very good.
I don't like Estrada as the catcher but we got him for Mota makes it worth it.

I don't think Omar is a genius for making this trade. Slick, but not a genius. I'll save my accolades for a trade and Omar if he lands a big pitcher. Until then this is him writing a wrong he made and getting them a serviceable starting catcher.
Still, it's a good trade that he got something with a pulse for Mota.
