As you should know by now, Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins won the MVP award yesterday over Matt Holliday of the Rockies. I disagree with this vote, thinking that Holliday should have won it. Rollins is a heck of a ballplayer, but Holliday just had the better year. I'm getting a little bit upset with this biased awards. If Rollins and Holliday switched teams, there is no doubt in my mind that Holliday would have won it. But getting to the Reds news out of this, second basemen Brandon Phillips got three points because of an eighth place vote. He finished twenty-second, behind some players that really did not deserve to get any votes. At least Phillips got a vote. It was probably from a Cincinnati writer, but whatever. He is still young, and will improve on his 30/30 season next year. He really has turned into an exciting player to watch, and is beloved by every Reds fan. Hopefully the Reds can sign him to a long term contract. cincinnatiredsbaseball.blogspot.com/2007/11/mvp-vote.html
