The Reds are very close to signing Cordero, Ken Rosenthal says. They're actually spending money. Right now, 3 teams are going after him, including the Reds and Brewers. they could sign him by today.

Guess the only problem I see is that once they decided to throw money at someone...it's a guy that's going to throw 5% of the total innings pitched, maybe less. I actually think a guy like Carlos Silva would have been awesome in that park -- he gets a lot of ground balls and would have a good infield defense behind him, that's a good thing in a smaller ballpark. Signing Silva and a couple decent relievers like Riske and Herges...
