Phillip Hughes: 0-0 0.00 ERA
A.J. Burnett: 1-1 5.57ERA
On Phillip Hughes:
The Phil Hughes era will officially get underway at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, as the most touted pitching prospect in baseball takes the mound under the lights against the Toronto Blue Jays. A 20-year-old right-hander, Hughes has experienced a meteoric rise through the Yankees' farm system, showcasing his talents last season by going 10-3 with a 2.25 ERA in 21 starts at Double-A Trenton.
"I can definitely feel the anticipation, but it's not something that will be going through my mind when I'm out there," Hughes said.
On A.J. Burnett:
The Blue Jays were disappointed that rainy conditions in New York spoiled their first meeting of the year with the Yankees. Now that Wednesday's game was postponed, Toronto will get a shot at taking what has become a one-game series from its American League East rivals. On Thursday, Toronto will turn to No. 2 starter A.J. Burnett in the lone game versus the Bronx Bombers. The right-hander, originally pencilled in to start on Wednesday, is coming off two consecutive no-decisions, and if not for a few lapses by Toronto's bullpen, Burnett might be on the positive side of .500 already.
In his last start, against Baltimore on Saturday, Burnett allowed only three hits but walked five in seven innings. Still, the Orioles scored just twice against Burnett, and none of the five walks resulted in runs.

They're really stupid bringing him up.

Again people are treating him like the next Roger Clemans. He is still a prospect so he can be a complete bust, especially now that he is rush to the major.

Hughes continues the trend of horrible starts for the Yankees.

It really wasn't a bad start for Hughes. He didn't have a great first inning, but for the next 3 1/3 innings, he did do pretty decent. It's pretty hard to expect him to be great when he really wasn' t even ready. If it hadn't been for the Yankees pitching falling apart, Hughes wouldn't be in the Majors right now. All in all, you can't say it was a horrible first start. You also have realize how nervous he must've been. He will get used to it.

I think he did well considering he's a good month or two from being MLB ready.

I think he did well considering he's a good month or two from being MLB ready. I would have given him a year no matter what. He can't just keep going on with a fastball and curveball. If he stayed down for the rest of the year, he would've been able to work on that change. But now he'll just have to work on it during the season.

The K/BB ratio is at least promising. Joe should have let him atleast finish the inning only to save the bullpen. At least Hughes could have helped the team in some way.

Yes. They got a crappy start and great start out of him and now he's out about a month and a half.

If they hadn't hit the panic button and rushed him up, he wouldn't be out with a hamstring injury. Now as a result he's out 4-6 weeks (possibly more). This then opens the door for more injuries and next thing you know, he's the next Mark Prior or Rich Harden.
